Autonomic Platform End-User Terms of Use

Welcome to the Autonomic Platform. Autonomic Technology Inc. ("Autonomic", "we", "us", or "our") provides a web-based cognitive wellness platform based in Canada and operating in compliance with applicable Canadian laws, including federal and provincial regulations at www.getautonomic.com (the "Autonomic Platform"). These End-User Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Autonomic Platform. By using the Autonomic Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
1. Ownership and Acceptable Use
All content on the Autonomic Platform, including software, text, graphics, images, audio, and video ("Content"), is owned by Autonomic or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the Content for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission from Autonomic.
2. User Accounts
You may be required to create an account to access certain features. Student account information, including personal and usage data, will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We are based in Canada and comply with Canadian privacy laws, including PIPEDA and applicable provincial legislation. Information may be shared in aggregated, de-identified form with participating educational institutions to support student success and program evaluation, but will not be shared in identifiable form without explicit consent.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. User Content
If you submit content ("User Content"), you retain ownership but grant Autonomic a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it solely for operating and improving the Platform. You represent that you have the legal rights to share this content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights. You may not upload harmful or unlawful content. We do not claim ownership of educational or academic work submitted by students.
Upon verified request, we will take reasonable steps to delete your User Content from our systems, except where retention is required by law or institutional policy.

4. Community Standards and Platform Use
Autonomic is designed to support cognitive performance, wellbeing, personal growth, and student success. Users are expected to engage with the Platform in a respectful, lawful, and responsible manner.
Users may not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, bully, or abuse other individuals.
- Submit content that is unlawful, discriminatory, hateful, or promotes violence.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent their identity.
- Submit false, misleading, or intentionally deceptive information.
- Attempt to manipulate, exploit, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to Platform systems, features, data, or services.
- Upload, distribute, or transmit malicious software, spam, or other disruptive content.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose.
Autonomic is not an emergency service, crisis hotline, healthcare provider, or replacement for professional medical or mental health care.
To support the safety, quality, and integrity of the Platform, certain user submissions may be reviewed through automated systems and authorized human review processes. Where content suggests a risk of harm to the user or another person, Autonomic may take appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws, institutional agreements, and internal safety protocols.
Enforcement
If a user violates these Terms, Community Standards, or other applicable Platform policies, Autonomic may take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a warning.
- Restrict access to certain features.
- Remove content.
- Temporarily suspend access to the Platform.
- Terminate access to the Platform.
- Notify an affiliated institution where permitted by law, contractual obligations, or safety considerations.
Autonomic reserves the right to take any action reasonably necessary to protect users, institutional partners, personnel, and the integrity, security, and operation of the Platform.
5. Data Privacy and Research
Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which outlines how data is collected, used, and protected, and is particularly relevant for institutional and educational reviews. We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including PIPEDA and provincial legislation. If data is used for research, it will be de-identified and used in accordance with applicable research ethics board approvals. You may opt out of research-related data use at any time by contacting us.
6. Medical Disclaimer
The Autonomic Platform is not a medical device or healthcare service. It is not intended to diagnose or treat any health conditions. Always consult a healthcare professional regarding any medical or psychological concerns.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Autonomic is not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the Platform. This includes indirect or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions (e.g., Quebec) may not allow such exclusions. Nothing in these Terms overrides your rights under applicable provincial law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Autonomic and its affiliates harmless from any claims arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.
9. Accessibility
Autonomic is committed to compliance with accessibility standards including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and strives to ensure the Platform is accessible to all users.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be communicated via the Platform or email.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, unless a separate agreement with your institution specifies otherwise.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Autonomic regarding your use of the Platform, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
